What is a travel order?
Under Slovak law (Zákon č. 283/2002 Z. z. o cestovných náhradách), employers must issue a travel order (cestovný príkaz) for every business trip. It documents the route, purpose, employee, and distance - and forms the legal basis for reimbursement and tax deduction. Without it, you cannot claim vehicle expenses.
For self-employed individuals (SZČO), travel orders serve as supporting documentation for the tax authority that business trips were legitimate and that the claimed vehicle costs are justified.
